Why do we lie?

Who are we lying to when we lie?

OK, so that’s a rhetorical question. Of course the answer is “to ourselves”… Right?

If you’re not sure about that, then you may want to read this.

[pullquote]The path to self-knowledge starts with having the self-respect to speak the truth, if at first, only to yourself. [/pullquote]I am a lousy, I mean lousy, liar. I have the kind of face that communicates exactly what I’m feeling most of the time. In fact, it takes such a tremendous effort to mask myself that I’ve pretty much given up on it. What you see is what you get here…

Now, that’s not to say as a kid that I didn’t try to lie, but early on I realized that lying completely stressed me out. I always knew that somehow my lie would be found out so I generally confessed almost immediately.

However, there are the lies we tell others… and then there are the lies we tell ourselves. (And I’ve learned a lot about those over the years…)

We lie because we don’t believe in ourselves.

You see… sometimes we can all feel like “phonies”. That we are somehow going to be found out that we are not as “nice”, or “organized”, or “qualified”, or “gifted”, or “fill-in-the-blank” as we “seem” to be. And you know what? It’s true… AND completely false!

We are all precisely as “nice”, or “organized”, or “qualified”, or “gifted” as we actually ARE. The trouble is that very few of us know.

We have never gotten the chance to see how beautiful we are because we expend so much energy trying to be something others will approve of.

So… the lying… and the pretending… and the posing… is all a mask for the “not knowing”.

The deep-seated insecurity that results from not knowing leads to the lying, which gives us something to feel “phony” about… something we believe we have to “protect” from the light. This spins out of control until we become like a spider trapped in our own web of lies…

I believe we “lie” because, in a very deep, and personal way, we just don’t know what’s “true”…

And this is where Astrology can help.

Astrology can provide a window into who you actually are at a very deep level so that you no longer have to pretend to be something you’re not. You can embrace the beauty of who you really ARE. (And I mean everyone of you… there is beauty in every spirit. No BS, remember? I’m a lousy liar. ;-))

[pullquote]We never get to see our true beauty because we expend our energy by seeking another’s approval. [/pullquote]The path to self-knowledge starts with having the self-respect to speak the truth, if at first, only to yourself.

Where to start your own Truth Telling?

Start by owning something truly beautiful about yourself:

  • Your smile
  • Your loving heart
  • Your ability to make others feel good
  • Your generous spirit
  • Your intelligence
  • Your creativity

You know it’s there… let it shine.

Where are you lying to You? You deserve better…

Always infinite possibilities… always your choice.

Lovely vote of confidence for those who don’t really appreciate themselves! And it is always our choice, although some of us may not know that.
