OK, people… You don’t believe everything you hear or read on the internet, do you? This (shall I be polite?) hoax is dragged out every few years to fill space, in a vain and ridiculous attempt to discredit Astrology.
As Rob Brezsny put it:
I understand that scientists like him [Parke Kunkle] don’t like to lower themselves to the task of actually doing research about how astrology works. But if they’re going to snidely cast aspersion against it, they should at least learn it well enough to know what they’re talking about.

What Rob is referring to is this: Astrology, being born over 2,000 years ago, is Earth-centric. (That’s all we really understood back then, eh?) This means that it is based upon the seasons, the equinoxes and the solstices: the Zodiac not the Constellations.

The Zodiac that most of us know and love is not based on constellations but on the seasons. Twelfths of the circle, 30 degree segments of the 360 degrees the earth makes around the Sun, are named the 12 Zodiac Signs.
The segments are based on the solstices and equinoxes. The Spring Equinox marks zero Aries, the Summer Solstice, zero Cancer, the Autumn Equinox, zero Libra and the Winter Solstice, zero Capricorn. Those four mark 90 degree segments that are divided in thirds, each 30 degrees named for a Sign.
That system uses the names of near ecliptic constellations for the twelfths, the Signs. Those were in close alignment with the seasonal based Signs about 2100 years ago. Today the Tropical Signs are about 24 degrees out of alignment to the constellations which names they bear. The Zodiac is based though, not on those constellations, but on Solstices and Equinoxes (the seasons).
The Zodiac remains the same. So… if you’re a Libra, guess what? You’re still a Libra! Aquarius? Yup! You’re still Aquarius… ditto for the rest of y’all… the seasons have not changed.
